N. Power Sheep Fleece
@ 2008-01-07 - 18:55:23The cynical New Year's prezzie of 17 percent rises in gas and electric charges (ptp) by N.Power and all the others to follow suit was greeted by typical silence of the lambs throughout the drenched and windswept sheep nation this week.
Our farmer suppliers putting it all down to "rises in wholesale gas prices", but on further analysis we find there is actually an OVER SUPPLY of gas this winter.
So who's doing the price fixing of the wholesale gas market and the bare-faced fleecing of the nation?
Look no further than that nasty murderous stony-faced little crook in the Kremlin.
He knows a compliant and uncomplaining winter vomiting bug-stricken post festivity knocked-out and docile flock ready for the taking when he sees one!

I think I can help you out here.
The reason it all went "silence of the lambs" is simply that sheep are still agog at their credit card bills and the fact that they can no longer stuff calorie-laden shite into their mouths with impunity!
In other words Mikey - shock!

Ah yes eggy lass, sheep are quite good at shock ...but not so good at the " & outrage" bit.
Not sure about the credit card bill effect tho; the flock are still shopping til they're dropping (ptp) & going at it full fake pelt in the sales, 'round this neck of the fields at least.
I trust you had a reasonable festive time EB , but will check your blog just to make sure you are still sound in eggbod and mind...
Catch you later

Are they wearing/being fleeced?

Ha ha not me, I've got a wood burning stove and my electricity comes from the diesel engine! Although I guess the cost of diesel is bound to rise.

Someone's definitely smarter than the average bear around here...

Hmmm...aren't the likes of Bush and Blair clever when it comes to energy security!
Bush seems to think that the US can burn fossil fuels till kingdom come. Blair tried to raise the profile of climate change issues without pursuing energy saving at home. Both seemed to be content to rely on the unstable Middle East for oil and Russia for gas (in the case of W Europe).
Smart innit!

Indeed Oregano. British politicians have never shirked from selling out the people of this country for personal kickbacks/knighthoods etc gain.
A. Bevan and the late John Smith being two possible exceptions.
Brown, just like Blair before him is a common spiv - all public smiles and smirks, but with a stealth tax dagger wielded behind his back.
The ordinary peoples' welfare before yet more profit for the rich I say.
I wish I could say something really clever and actually communicate how I really feel but the words 'pissed off' and 'depressed' are all I can muster
And the latest proposal from the conservatives as our alternative government. Work you dogs for your measly benefits, clean the big peoples toilets and streets..feel more like a piece of shit than you already do.... or your kids will starve....god help us

wend' . Even a semi- enlightened government would put ordinary people before ever-increasing profits for the already wealthy.
What we have here is cynical duplicity and bare-faced lies from both main PPs.
Notice how the MP Hain is to be given a mere slap on the wrist for not declaring interests, whereas the common man would be sent to jail by the Inland Revenue.
This is the price to pay for decades of national flock-acceptance of whatever is dished out to them.
The heartless bully government/big business will simply keep on pushing until they make slaves of most of the people. ( Cameron's latest - just goes to show his true colors ).
The present concept of success must be re-defined away from simplistic terms of profit and excess financial wealth and more towards quality of life for the citizen.
It may take two years of sheep revolution to do it, even though the unions were half-neutered by Thatcher in the 80s/90s. I think eventually the British people will be so outraged they WILL actually rise up against all this imposition of financial slavery and start marching en mass.
But things might have to get a lot worse first...sheep are by nature extremely averse to protest.
You know I absolutely agree - I feel frustrated at the apathy or apparent apathy that is encountered -somehow I doubt that the majority of people are apathetic but like me they just feel powerless - I hear outrage from others all the time so perhaps you are right -Viva la Revolution!
